CORMORANTS<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

Dear Members,<\/h2>\n

Just a reminder for existing members and a notification for those new this season: from September through to April we use various sanctioned methods to control the cormorants on site who like to visit us for an easy meal.<\/h2>\n

Please do not be alarmed if you hear bangers going off or an authorised person dispatching the agreed number of birds with a gun (only generally when there are few anglers on site and always in a controlled manner).<\/h2>\n

The Committee have discussed and agreed that the Fishery Manager will be permitted to take his dog on site when he undertakes cormorant shooting.<\/h2>\n

The reason for this is that his dog will be able to collect the shot cormorants straight away rather than waiting for any that land in a lake to drift to the edge or have to get a boat out to collect them.<\/h2>\n

This will ensure no member will come across any birds which have been despatched by this method.<\/h2>\n

This sanction is only granted to the fishery management when they are on site to undertake shooting of cormorants and the dog will be kept on a lead at all times when the dog is not required to retrieve birds from the water.<\/h2>\n

We also use a gas gun on site and all members are asked to kindly not attempt to turn this off if it is active as it is only authorised Committee members who should ever touch this particular piece of equipment.<\/h2>\n

\u00a0As always, the Committee extend its thanks to you all for your understanding of the necessity to conduct these practices when needed.<\/h2>\n

ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Dear Members,
There have been complaints made about members and their guests using illegal substances on site recently.
It is probably an opportune time to remind everyone that any member or their guests found using drugs
on the complex will incur an immediate and permanent expulsion and that no exceptions will be made.
The Committee cannot ignore incoming complaints of this nature and will,
if necessary, involve the local police if reports of drug taking on site continue.<\/h2>\n

UNHOOKING MATS<\/span><\/h1>\n

With the new season under way and many new members on site here is a reminder of the type of unhooking mat we allow and do not allow on cdas waters. Cradles or high sided mats are compulsory no matter what species of fish you are targeting. Please ensure you have the correct mat and some form of fish care kit including an antiseptic spray, lotion or liquid before coming on site.<\/span><\/h2>\n
