around the complex very low due to the continued lack of any consistent rainfall, the Committee have agreed that it is now necessary to close the stalking swim and swim 19 (second tree tunnel) on Whyke 1 lake as they are both deemed unsuitable for use.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">These swims will be closed from Tuesday 13th October and until further notice so please ensure that you do not use either of these swims until water levels improve, at which time a further directive will be supplied.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">As always, the Committee extend their thanks for your understand and observance of this notification.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>29\/08\/2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Dear Members,<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">After such a long spell of dry and very hot weather, our water levels are currently very low and this means some of our swims are now very challenging for the safe landing of fish and indeed the safety of our members.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Please can everyone take a close look at their swims when choosing them and be certain that the distance from the edge of the swim to the water level is not going to prove problematic if you are fortunate enough to need to safely net a catch and also safely return it to the lake.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Some swims are less affected than others so please do take that extra few minutes before you set up, to make sure your swim is suitable for your available equipment and take into account your dry and warm period as we officially enter Autumn, the complex currently remains very busy as many of you take advantage of the unusually agreeable weather for late September.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">As a result, the Committee have decided to delay the introduction of 3 rods on Whyke and Churchyard Lakes and 2 rods on Long and Little Long Lakes for the time being. This will be monitored regularly and a further post will notify you when you can start using the extra rod.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">As always, the Committee extend their thanks to you all for your understanding and observation of this temporary directive.<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_7 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module preset--module--divi-text--default\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>28\/09\/2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Dear Members,<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">The Committee has been monitoring the water temperature on the lakes for the past few weeks and it is clear that after such a long hot Summer, temperatures have not yet dropped sufficiently for pike fishing to start on 1st October 2026.<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">The decision has therefore been made to defer the start date for this season until water temperatures drop to 15 degrees.
